First OpenSER teaching book -"Building Telephony Systems with OpenSER"- is now available....
The first hundred percent book dedicated to the OpenSER software is finally out. "Building Telephony Systems with OpenSER" goes where no one has went before - writing a book to help people to understand OpenSER software and to teach them how to setup OpenSER based platforms - installation, configuration, integration.
"I'm glad to announce the availability of the book "Building Telephony Systems with OpenSER", as it is the first of its kind. The project of the book started in early 2005 when documentation for the project was very scarce. OpenSER is the software used in huge VoIP providers such as "FreeWorldDialup" and is capable to handle a few millions of subscribers. My first interest came because of the demand for VoIP providers and load balancing for Asterisk Servers. After writing the book "Configuration Guide for Asterisk PBX", the decision to write this one was to create a similar material to help users in the first steps. The book has a sequence to teach the user the basics and some advanced features of OpenSER."
says Flavio E. Goncalves, the author of the book, CEO of V.Office.
"Being as nature a technical person, I have a deep appreciation for people who put on paper knowledge about the usage of certain software - especially when it comes to OpenSER, which is a fast growing and complex piece of software. Better transfer knowledge to the community was one of the top priorities of the project from the beginning, and I'm really glad that the software development effort is now doubled by a teaching effort - I hope people will definitely find this book as a valuable tutorial that will help in their adventure in the OpenSER world. Even more, I'm happy that I got the opportunity to contribute a bit to this teaching effort by reviewing the technical aspects of this book."
says Bogdan-Andrei Iancu, OpenSER project co-founder and CEO of Voice System.
The book is published thanks to Packt Publishing (Birmingham-Mumbai) and can be purchased from their their site.
